Samantha Harrop
Sam has a wide-range of experience in the fields of internal communication, employee engagement and change management. She has gained this experience in a number of different corporate in-house and consultancy roles over the last fifteen years.
Sam provides both a strategic and practical hands-on approach to helping organisations communicate with and engage employees during times of change. She has experience of all the typical change interventions such as, mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and culture change. This includes a wealth of experience in creating or redefining organisations’ vision, values and behaviours and communicating these to and engaging the business in their successful deployment.
Sam adopts a business-focused approach to communication, and develops tailor-made solutions to meet real business needs.
In addition to organisation-wide communication, Sam has worked with individuals and teams on self development and personal communication; this has taken the form of one-to-one coaching and mentoring and through group workshop activities.
Sam’s most recent corporate role was Global Head of Internal Communication at Exel, where she managed the communication throughout two major acquisitions. The first when Exel acquired Tibbett & Britten, adding a further 35,000 people to the existing 75,000 strong workforce. The second, managing the communication for Exel throughout their acquisition by Deutsche Post in December 2005.
Sam gained her consultancy experience at Watson Wyatt and The Item Group where she was a senior consultant from 1999 to 2002. Key clients were Centrica, Alpha Airports, Barclays, Marconi and Homebase.
Sam set up her own communication consultancy in 2006 focusing on strategic and practical communication, change management and employee engagement and coaching and mentoring. Communication and dialogue are the core components of Sam’s offering.
